Upon your arrival in Marrakech, get settled into your accommodation and start exploring the
city’s highlights. Begin with a visit to the Jemaa el-Fna square, the beating heart of the
medina, filled with street performers, food stalls, and local vendors. Visit the Koutoubia
Mosque, the Bahia Palace, and the beautiful Majorelle Garden. Wander through the narrow
alleyways of the souks and shop for traditional Moroccan handicrafts. Enjoy dinner at a
rooftop restaurant or in the bustling square for a taste of local Moroccan cuisine

On day two, head out from Marrakech towards Ouarzazate, the gateway to the
Sahara. Along the way, you’ll cross the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass in the High
Atlas Mountains, offering breathtaking views. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, visit the
Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a famous filming
location for movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Explore the kasbah, its
mudbrick architecture, and panoramic views. You can also visit Taourirt Kasbah and
the Atlas Film Studios, where many famous movies and TV shows have been filmed.
Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Today, drive from Ouarzazate to Zagora, a town that marks the edge of the desert
and is known for its palm groves and proximity to the Sahara Desert. On your way,
stop by Tamegroute, a small village known for its green pottery and ancient library,
which holds rare manuscripts dating back to the 16th century. Once in Zagora, enjoy
a relaxing evening exploring the town or take a walk through the palm groves. If you
have time, you can book a short camel ride to see the dunes just outside of town.

Travel Time: Approximately 7 hours
On this long travel day, you’ll journey from Zagora to Merzouga, located deep in the
Sahara Desert. Along the way, you’ll pass through the Draa Valley, famous for its
palm-lined riverbanks and kasbahs. Upon arriving in Merzouga, you’ll be greeted
with the stunning erg Chebbi dunes. Take a camel trek to your desert camp, where
you can enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars. This is one of the
highlights of the trip—spending the night in a Berber-style tent in the heart of the
Sahara
Wake up early to witness a stunning sunrise over the desert dunes. Afterward, enjoy a
morning of free time in the desert. You can explore more of the surrounding dunes by camel
or 4×4 vehicle, visit a Nomadic family in the area to learn about their lifestyle, or simply
relax in the vast openness of the Sahara. In the afternoon, head back to Merzouga, where you
can visit the Khamlia village, known for its Gnawa music and culture. Enjoy a traditional
meal before heading back to the hotel for the night.

On day six, you will visit Rissani, the former capital of the Tafilalet region. Explore

Visit the Sijilmassa ruins, an ancient city that once played a key role in the region’s
trade routes. Continue to Erfoud, famous for its fossils and dates. If you’re visiting in
the right season, you can visit a local date farm. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing night
in Erfoud before heading back to the desert the next day.

Travel from Erfoud to Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most impressive natural
landscapes. The gorge is flanked by towering cliffs that rise up to 300 meters, creating
a dramatic setting for hiking or a scenic walk. You can explore the gorge on foot, visit
local Berber villages, or simply take in the stunning views. Enjoy a relaxing night in
the town of Tinghir or nearby, with views of the surrounding palm groves and
mountains.

Travel Time: Approximately 6-7 hours
On the final day of your journey, make your way back from Todra Gorge to
Marrakech. The drive takes you back over the High Atlas Mountains, offering
magnificent views as you head back into the bustling city. Once in Marrakech, you’ll
have some free time for last-minute shopping, or perhaps to relax at one of the city’s
many hammams before your departure.
